1983-1987 Ford High Altitude Mechanical Injection Pump (DB2829-4542)

1983-1987 Ford High Altitude Mechanical Injection Pump (DB2829-4542)

Description

High-altitude calibrated Stanadyne DB2 mechanical injection pump for 1983-1987 Ford F-Series and E-Series trucks running the 6.9L IDI diesel. Tuned for the thinner air, leaner fuel ratio, and reduced cold-start enrichment that high-altitude trucks need to stay smooth and smoke-free.

Mechanically identical to the standard DB2829 platform, calibrated differently. If your truck lives consistently above ~5,000 ft and the original pump came from the factory with the high-altitude calibration sticker, this is the right replacement — running a standard-altitude pump up high causes black smoke, rough idle, and EGT swings.

Features
  • High-Altitude Stanadyne DB2 Pump
  • Leaner Fuel Calibration for Elevations Above ~5,000 ft
  • Direct Bolt-On — Factory Lines & Mounting
  • Mechanical Injection — No ECM or Electronics
  • For Stock-Power 6.9L IDI Trucks
  • Part Number: DB2829-4542
Notes
  • Wrong pump for sea-level trucks — black smoke and a rough idle are the first symptoms of running a high-altitude pump at low elevation.
  • If your factory pump tag does not say "HA" or include the high-altitude callout, use the standard-calibration DB2 instead.
